AI technologies help to add more value to every part of the fashion industry, from the design process and manufacturing processes to sales.

FREMONT, CA:  The fashion industry is one of the largest industries in the world.  Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to transform the fashion industry from the way the fashion industries manufacture their products to the stage where they sell the products. AI technologies are changing the fashion industry in every element of its value chain, like designing, manufacturing, logistics, marketing, and sales.

AI helps promote and sell fashion goods. The fashion brands leverage AI and machine learning to increase users' shopping experience, enhance the efficiency of sales using intelligent automation, and improve sales processing using predictive analytics and guided sales processes.

Fashion brands have also started to utilize conversational assistance through chatbots and voice assistant equipment like Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri. Using conversational interfaces, fashion brands can collect data by asking customers questions and knowing customer desires and trends.

Along with these conversational systems, AI will soon take over e-commerce platforms and mobile apps. Clients and customers are now able to take pictures of styles they like, and smart image recognition systems can match the photos to real-life items that are available for the sale.

AI-enabled shopping apps allow shoppers to take screenshots of clothes they see online, identify shoppers and accessories in that photo, and then find a similar outfit and look for similar styles. Computer vision and machine learning are also being used to help spot fashion fakes and counterfeit products. Earlier, spotting fakes required the trained eye of specialized customs or other enforcement officers. As for now, the AI systems can keep a consistent watchful eye on counterfeit products. AI technologies are being used by customs and border enforcement to help spot the validity of high-end products that are frequently counterfeited, such as purses and sunglasses.
